The Fellowship Hall Construction Project

Here's a look at the new fellowship hall, as it appears on September 3. The first picture shows the protected main entrance, and you can see that there are no steps anymore. The second picture shows the fellowship hall with most of the windows installed.

The ground has been raised in front of the entrance.

Much of the new building has been sided already.

A few weeks ago it was just a skeleton.

Construction began in June, after a dedication service at the end of May.

The first few shovels of dirt.

Shania won the special ceremonial shovel.

 The basement will go here.

Digging the foundation.

Setting up forms to pour the basement walls and foundation.

The building will be framed and heated, so it can withstand the winter weather. Then the finish work will go on for a while. There's a lot of work to do.

Getting ready to pour the basement floor.

The original foundation was concrete and rock.

We cut a doorway through from the new basement to the old.

The new basement floor.

 Before the floor was poured.

The new entrance is at ground level, which will be much easier to navigate.

Adding rafters.

The basement won't be finished right away.

The kitchen will be here.

The stained glass was covered to keep the windows safe.

Looking like a real building.

The new face of the church.

The old windows will be protected from the weather.

 More digging.

We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us.
And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
